Oakura School Room 7
Room 7 is made up of 30 learners - 29 fantastic students and their teacher. We are all looking forward to a great year in the Year 4/5/6 team. Our school is situated west of New Plymouth, on the coast. We have an amazing school environment that we really value and we are have a key role in the Predator Free Taranaki initiative.
In Room 7 our class motto is 'We choose kind.' Our blog shows what we have been getting up to in Room 7.
Luke's pop took 2 and a half years to make this incredible marble machine. It uses all types of simple machines and we all thoroughly enjoyed watching the marbles take many different paths as they went round and round the marble machine. A big thank you to Luke and his poppa.
Oakura School Year 4 to 6 team won the $500 prize for the most entries at the recent science fair. All the students worked very hard to create their poster boards and models related to energy in Taranaki. We are proud of each and every one of them. Special mention to Holly for coming 4th and Sam and Robert for winning best poster board. Awesome effort!
Holly won 4th prize at the Science Fair last week with her poster board and model that explained how solar energy works. She created a fantastic model of a classroom and even hand painted the students and teacher that feature in her model. A well deserved result Holly. Proud of you.
All the Year 6 students from Oamata School, Coastal Taranaki School and Oakura School met this afternoon at Oakura School to take part in the Amazing Race. All students had a great time in their teams, meeting new people and completing a range of activities. A fun afternoon for everyone.
