Des Hunt Visit

The Year 5 and 6 students attended a session with New Zealand Children's author Des Hunt. He writes fiction books based on science and technology. Des entertained the students with his stories. He shared a valuable message that if your work is first rejected, keep trying as eventually you will be successful. Authors such as Dr Seuss and J.K. Rowling had their stories rejected  by publishers many times before their work was accepted.

Sign Language Week

Room 7 students were lucky enough to have Lisa, who has a hearing impairment, visit our class to give the students a 'taster' course in sign language. We are all now practising to ensure we become more familiar with New Zealand's third official language.

Road Patrol Training

A selection of Year 6 students completed their road patrol training this week with the local police education officers. The officers commented on the mature attitude our students displayed. Well done to everyone involved.
